Program Description
The Diploma in Business is not just a qualification; it will help students navigate the world of business across a range of industries and occupations. They will develop skills in creative thinking and critical analysis, communication and business decision making. Students will be able to develop and lead ethical, social and environmental solutions to meet business challenges. From the Bachelor of Business, students in this program will gain a solid foundation in accounting, economics, finance, organizational development, and marketing.
The program uses real business case studies to analyze business data, strategy and management practices. Courses use current business research and industry experts to understand regional and global business trends.
There is an option to complete a major in Indigenous Organization Management, which has been specially designed for those employed or associated with an Indigenous organization. The courses in the Diploma have been based on areas identified as being fundamental to the diverse operational aspects of Indigenous organizations - e.g. financial accountability, business law, management, group dynamics and leadership skills.
If students complete the Diploma in Business, they can progress into the Bachelor of Business and receive advanced standing for all units completed in the Diploma.
Students will graduate from a Diploma in Business as a flexible, all-rounder - their career pathway may include small and large business management; administration or management; Indigenous organization management; banking; government agencies; human resources; project management; entrepreneur; or business consulting.
