The Master of Urban and Regional Planning offers a thorough grounding in urban and regional planning both to graduates wishing to enter the profession and to practicing professionals wishing to upgrade their knowledge. Besides acquiring knowledge and necessary skills, for their professional accreditation, graduates will be in high demand and will be able to access employment opportunities within and outside Australia.

Students complete two semesters of coursework (48 credit points) followed by one semester of research (24 credit points) in which the student will undertake a full-trimester research dissertation.

Examples of career opportunities include positions in local and state government, private consulting firms, development companies, state and federal government departments involved with urban affairs, environmental management, transport, community development, heritage conservation, regional prosperity and related fields, as well as opportunities in higher level policy advice and research roles.
