Program Description
The General Arts and Sciences - English for Academic Purposes program will appeal to students wishing to be immersed in English language and Canadian culture. It is well-suited for students who wish to pursue further studies or enter the workforce with strong communication skills. Small class sizes foster interaction with classmates and the instructor, and classes are composed of learners from a wide range of cultures and backgrounds. During second semester, students are also able to connect to the broader College environment through discipline-specific coursework from various programs of study and may earn up to two General Education course credits towards select College programs. Successful graduates of the EAP program will have met the language requirements for entry into many regular programs at Cambrian College.This program consists of 4 levels. Each Level is 2 months long. Students can study 2 levels in each semester. Typically, students study for 8 months. Students with advanced English skills may be able to skip levels and complete it in 4 months. Students with very basic English skills may take longer to complete all requirements.
