Fine Art Printmaking trains students in the traditions of printmaking and contemporary image-making processes, such as drawing, collage, photography, artists’ books, letterpress, and digital image-making.
Creative exploration in various visual forms is encouraged, supported by intellectual inquiry, leading to innovative practice.
Students will have access to one of the best-equipped printmaking workshops in the UK, with facilities for etching, screen printing, lithography, relief printing, large format digital printing, letterpress, bookbinding, and traditional wet-based photography.
Partnerships with local arts communities offer opportunities for creative engagement in schools, galleries, and studios. Visits to exhibitions and guest lectures from artists and professionals in the creative industries will enhance understanding of professional practice.
Students will have the chance to exhibit their work, and there are international links with the University of Nagoya in Japan, offering an exchange program available through competitive application.
