The newly redesigned English B.A. effectively combines both literature and writing emphases to offer a well-rounded experience for students. As an English major, students will develop a host of skills including writing, editing, problem solving and critical thinking and analysis. With the new curriculum, students will gain breadth as they read widely in World, British, and American literature, as well as depth, by exploring a variety of frameworks (rhetorical, theoretical, linguistic). Students will also have opportunities to join a variety of student publications including the Literary Review or Pinyon. With a well-rounded degree, students are prepared to enter graduate school, law school, or move directly into the workforce as public relations reps, guidance counselors, or technical writers.
