This program consists of a pathway program offered by StudyGroup at the Leeds Beckett University International Study Centre. After completing the pathway, students will progress into a program at Leeds Beckett University. In an international foundation year students will study courses related to their intended field of study alongside English to develop and enhance their skills as a student. Advancement into their intended program depends upon successful completion of the pathway program.

This International Foundation Year provides the subject knowledge in sciences and mathematics, as well as the English language skills necessary for success in an undergraduate program at Leeds Beckett University. Once a student completes this course they will be suitable for progression options in areas such as computing, biomedical sciences and civil engineering.

After completing this pathway, students will transition to the BA Social Psychology program. Students will discover how attempts to understand who we are must consider the impact of social and psychological influences. This course will explore social psychological approaches that extend Western scientific thought and reconsider ideas of consciousness, mind, self and social living from a range of alternative cultural frameworks, including psychoanalysis, discursive psychology and non-Western belief systems such as Buddhism and Daoism. You will gain insights into how the environment, spirituality, language and relationships shape who we are and what we become, and you will develop a critical philosophy of what it means to be human.
