Swansea University's Master of Mathematics is a challenging four-year course taking students to a masters-level work. It is designed for those who want to study in more depth, or who might want to use advanced mathematics in their careers or in research. Students can choose to specialize in a particular aspect of mathematics or study courses from across the broad range offered by the department.
The Master of Mathematics gives students the chance to explore the number theory that Pythagoras studied, the financial mathematics that the stock market relies on, and subjects from probability analysis and nonlinear partial differential equations, to noncommutative geometry and algebraic topology.
Swansea's staff are experts in their areas of mathematics with the majority being recognized by the Higher Education Academy with a Fellowship or Senior Fellowship. Students will master the ideas and logic of mathematics and their applications and acquire a highly desirable set of transferable skills that will set them apart in the employment marketplace.
