The FIU Global First Year Program combines credit-bearing courses from the first year of a student’s degree with additional support services, instruction tailored to their academic and language level, and cultural experiences to ensure their future success. The Global First Year experience goes beyond academic, language, and cultural growth by offering the Career Accelerator program, which helps students gain valuable professional skills for a successful career.
The Career Accelerator is specifically designed for international students and includes:
Four semesters of professional development and career guidance
Skills-based training and opportunities for exclusive internships
Unique workshops, real-world experiences, and cross-cultural group work
The Department of Art and Art History offers a Bachelor of Arts in Art History that introduces methodologies and subjects of Art History from around the world. In addition to traditional European and American subjects, the program emphasizes Latin American art from Pre-Columbian times to the present. The BA in Art History provides professional education for careers in the art field and prepares students for further graduate study. This program complements the BFA degree program in art and fosters collaboration between artists and historians.
