The FIU Global First Year Program combines credit-bearing courses from the first year of a student’s degree with additional support services, instruction tailored to their academic and language level, and cultural experiences, all aimed at ensuring their future success. The Global First Year experience goes beyond academic, language, and cultural growth, offering the Career Accelerator program to help students gain valuable professional skills for a successful career.
The Career Accelerator, designed specifically for international students, includes four semesters of professional development and career guidance, skills-based training, exclusive internship opportunities, unique workshops, real-world experiences, and cross-cultural group work. A degree in real estate from the College of Business prepares students to make informed decisions in the real estate and real estate finance industries, covering financial aspects of transactions from residential to commercial to international properties, as well as property management and real estate development.
Upon completing a BBA in Real Estate, students will have a conceptual understanding of real estate markets, practices, and institutions, knowledge of the legal environment of real estate, the ability to identify real estate development opportunities in commercial markets, and analytical skills to analyze real estate financing alternatives. Graduates can pursue various career paths in commercial property management and sales, investment management, brokerage, mortgage banking, leasing, appraisal, site location and procurement, and residential property management. Possible job titles for BBA Real Estate graduates include Broker, Real Estate Sales Associate, Realtor, Office Manager, and more.
