The FIU Global First Year Program combines credit-bearing courses from the first year of a student’s degree with additional support services, instruction tailored to their academic and language level, and cultural experiences, all aimed at ensuring their future success. In addition to academic, language, and cultural growth, the Global First Year experience also includes the Career Accelerator program, which provides valuable professional skills to prepare students for a successful career.

The Bachelor of Arts in Psychology provides excellent training in understanding human behavior using scientifically rigorous methods. It emphasizes the science of psychology through research sequences and includes recent trends in psychological theory and practice, such as child psychopathology, environmental psychology, and legal psychology.
Students can focus on one of five key sub-disciplines: experimental, social, applied, personality/abnormal, or developmental. They have opportunities to participate in ongoing research, join student organizations, and conduct their own studies in research labs.
