Academic English Program (AEP) is designed for international students to prepare for future academic studies. Lakehead University program targets all four language areas: reading, writing, listening, and speaking. Students will improve their ability to read academic materials, write essays, take notes, and give presentations.
With the successful completion of this program's highest level (Level 5), students will meet the English language requirement for most Lakehead University undergraduate and graduate programs without further English Proficiency Test Scores of IELTS (6.5) or TOEFL (80) or equivalent.
Students with a conditional admission limited to language proficiency who are placed in level 5 may take one academic course at the undergraduate level for credit concurrently with their AEP course. However, course options are limited.
