Program Description

This two-semester course is equivalent to the first year of an undergraduate degree. It aims to help you develop the skills you need to join the second year of a related degree at the University of Leeds, by building on your pre-existing English language skills and supporting you through the introduction to a British-style university curriculum. Our teachers work closely with students to bring you a tailored, personal studying experience and allow you to seamlessly enter an undergraduate degree.

Studying Biological Sciences can open up a wealth of career options in many different professional fields. This International Year One pathway offers focused subject-specific modules such as neuroscience, genetics, pharmacology and anatomy. There is also a module in academic English language skills included in the pathway, which aims to improve your English language ability to prepare you for academic challenges.

Our undergraduate degree in Biotechnology with Enterprise is offered in partnership with the Leeds University Business School, this exciting degree offers both an understanding of disciplines underpinning advances in biotechnology, and the essentials of business, commerce and entrepreneurship.

Develop an in-depth knowledge of cellular and molecular life sciences, and learn how this can be applied to real-world problems, together with the entrepreneurial skills to turn your ideas into reality.

You don’t need any prior knowledge of business or enterprise for this course.
