Program Description
The English Language Preparation program is a chance to improve your English language skills before beginning your pathway program. This program will you develop the required language skills to be successful in your intended pathway and degree program. 1-Semester Pathway and 2-Semester Pathway pre-sessional English are available. 1-Semester Pathway Pre-sessional English requires Academic IELTS for UKVI 5.0 overall (5.0 in all subskills) and 2-Semester Pathway Pre-sessional English requires Academic IELTS for UKVI 4.5 Overall (minimum 4.5 in all sub-skills).
This program consists of a pathway program offered by StudyGroup at the International Study Centre at the University of Sussex followed by entry into a university program offered at the University of Sussex. In the Pre-Master's programme, you will study courses related to your intended field of study alongside English to develop and enhance your skills as a student. Advancement into your intended program depends upon the successful completion of the pathway program.
The Pre-Masters in Business, Media and Social Sciences, provides a route to a variety of postgraduate degrees at the University of Sussex. English language and career skills are combined with subject-specific modules such as social sciences, cultural studies, a variety of business skills like accounting and business management to provide you with a strong foundation for your chosen business, media and social sciences degree.
International law is an exciting and ever changing area of law.
During the Master of Law in International Law, you’ll study international law from a theoretical perspective, helping you to understand and contextualise the law and the international legal system. You’ll learn from today’s leading lawyers – our world-leading research underpins our teaching – and gain a strong basis in the foundations of international law and the international legal system.
You’ll have the opportunity to explore specialist areas of the law that seek to regulate, for example:
- the use of force
- armed conflict
- international crimes and terrorism
- human rights and human migration
- the protection of the environment.
