The Faculty of Engineering at Lakehead University - Thunder Bay offers a uniquely designed four-year Bachelor of Engineering Degree program in Chemical Engineering, with a Co-op/Internship option available. The BEng (Chemical) degree at Lakehead University is accredited through the Canadian Engineering Accreditation Board (CEAB).
The unique structure of Lakehead University’s programs at the Thunder Bay campus enables students to earn a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Chemical Engineering in four years while also completing the requirements of a Chemical Engineering Technology Diploma by the end of the second year of their BEng degree program.
As a chemical engineer, students will be skilled in the development, design, construction, and operation of industrial plants in which matter undergoes a change. Versatile and well-grounded in chemistry, physics and mathematics, they will also apply empirical engineering know-how to solve problems. Become involved in faculty research projects in biorefining, generating green energy from biomass, ore processing, or applying biomembranes and ultraviolet light in effluent treatment.
